The legendary Oktoberfest in Munich - also known as the “Wiesn” - is the largest beer festival in the world as well as one of the most popular and longest-running folk festivals anywhere. It stands for conviviality, tradition and Bavarian “Gemütlichkeit”. For over 200 years now, people have come from all over the world to the Oktoberfest to commemorate this special occasion. The Oktoberfest Bier is an established component of the festivities and as such also a part of Munich’s rich brewing tradition. Paulaner brews the original Oktoberfest Bier. Indeed, it is one of only six Munich-based breweries that are permitted to brew and serve real Oktoberfest Bier. Paulaner has the vision to make Munich’s authentic way of life and the Paulaner beer culture experienceable worldwide – no matter if in Munich or at an official Paulaner Oktoberfest in the world.

Wow, where to begin with Oktoberfest?

I only started at Cave Direct a couple of months ago, but being invited to celebrate Oktoberfest in Munich, was both a highlight so far and also a bucket list experience for me! I knew the traditions around Oktoberfest but personally had never celebrated it. I was always intrigued to be involved in such a fun event and knew that one day I would celebrate in Munich. So here I was in my new job getting to do just that.
