Located only a stone’s throw away from Huddersfield train station; on the outside of the impressive Byram Arcade, Arcade Beer & Liquor has carved out its niche as the best place to get specialist beer in a town that has many, many great pubs.
Jonny, an avid beer nerd convinced his friends Tom and Mark to open a bottle shop with him to let him get his hands on some of the great beers he’d tried on his travels at home and so in late 2015 they opened Arcade beers. Originally starting out as a bottle shop stocking over 150 different beers the friends quickly realised that they would need to grow their offering and so put in some draught lines as well as serving cocktails and natural wines.
As the demand for great beer from across the globe grew, they expanded into the shop next door and reopened the venue with 18 draught beer lines; pouring heritage beers such as Paulaner, Lindemans and Hacker Pschorr as well as having some of the most cutting edge craft beer in from across Europe and the US
On top of opening Huddersfield’s premier craft beer bottleshop and bar the three friends have also opened a continental style café bar just a stone’s throw away called Arcade Coffee & Food which has been inspired by great venues seen across the continent. Never ones to rest on their laurels they’ve also recently started hosting supper clubs where they’re offering an elevated food menu which really let their chefs show off their skills.
So if you’re local or are willing to risk jumping on a Trans-Pennine Express train its well worth heading down to Byram Arcade for a great selection of food and drinks in a warm and welcoming environment.
